Julia and Tommy look forward to welcoming you in beautiful Smygehuk, a magical place at the most southern tip of Sweden. So get ready and pack your bags!

Why Sweden

A Swedish family, a love for the sea and Tommy learning Swedish should be enough, right? Well, if there wasn’t a secret fascination for lighthouses and rough places, maybe the wedding would take place somewhere else. But almost by chance we found this beautiful spot and want to share it with you.

Schedule

Traditional Swedish Krayfish party

6:00 pm

A crayfish party is a traditional summertime eating and drinking celebration called a “kräftskiva”. The crayfish are eaten outdoors, and coloured paper lanterns are hung round the table. Julia absolutely loves a good crayfish party and insists on her family throwing one for her whenever she visits Sweden in summer. Are you wondering what is up with the ”K” in krayfish? You will know soon, so stay tuned.

Dresscode

FRIDAY AUGUST 4: CRAZY LIKE A CRAYFISH

Have you ever wanted to dress up as a mermaid, a funky fish, a pirate or a sailor? Now is the chance. Best costumes will win a prize. Small hint: The groom will be wearing red.

SATURDAY AUGUST 5: MARITIME CHIC

Festive and dress to impress! Let yourself be inspired by the colors of the beach and the ocean. From hues of blue and green, to shades of beige and brown, anything goes.

Although Swedish summers aren’t known for their tropical heat, we recommend light flowing or natural fabrics such as linen, chiffon, organza and silk.

Ladies: A stunning midi/maxi dress or a jumpsuit will make for a comfortable and beautiful choice.

Gents: A linen or other light weight blazer matched with a light colored shirt and pants.

We don't want to see buttoned up shirts, ties, very dark/neon colors or flower prints. Ladies might want to avoid white unless they are keen on picking a fight with the bride.

In case you wondered: Yes, you can show up barefoot.

Still lost or no idea what to wear? Check out the inspiration below.

SMYGEHUS HAVSBAD

We didn’t really want to recommend this place, but if we didn’t, you would ask yourself why. The positive part: It’s right by the sea (next to the wedding venue) and they also rent out small villas. If you are into trinkets, no concept and strawberries next to a steak, you might actually like it :)
